$45,000 in Alleged Drug Money Returned to Client Following Trial in Ramsey County

$45,000 in Alleged Drug Money Returned to Client Following Trial in Ramsey County

The Dakota County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on the client’s apartment and seized $45,000 in cash from a safe in the bedroom. The currency was sent to the Minnesota National Guard Counterdrug Task Force, where ion testing was conducted on the currency. The analysis revealed the presence of cocaine on the currency. The client was served with a forfeiture notice for all of the $45,000. Before trial, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office offered to settle the case by keeping half of the money and returning the other half to the client. The client rejected the settlement offer. Following a trial where testimony was taken from several drug task force agents and a sergeant of the Minnesota National Guard, Adam successfully argued for a verdict in favor of the client. All $45,000 of the seized money was ordered returned to the client.
