Our client unsuccessfully petitioned the district court to seal (or “expunge”) the records associated with his arrest and conviction.  The district court denied our client’s petition for exungement, and we appealed on our client’s behalf.  We filed a lengthy brief in the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and zealously argued for our client at oral argument before a three-judge panel.  Following oral argument, the Minnesota Court of Appeals issued a written opiniong holding that the district court based its decision denying our client’s expungement petition on clearly erroneous factual findings and applied the wrong legal standard.  The case was then sent back to the district court for reconsideration.
