Our client’s car was used by her tenant to commit a DWI offense that subjected the vehicle to forfeiture proceedings in Washington County. Our client was with the driver on the date of the offense, which made it more difficult for our firm to raise the “innocent owner” defense to the forfeiture. On top of that, the driver was convicted of the DWI crime giving rise to the forfeiture proceedings.
